Tracey Emin will contribute works alongside artists, Mat Collishaw and Paula Rego for an exhibition at the Foundling Museum, which opens to the public on 27 January. The exhibition centres on themes of childhood and separation, reflecting on the Museum’s original function as London’s first home for abandoned children.
For this exhibition Emin will create a version of her neon work from her British Pavillion at the 2007 Venice Biennale. This will be installed in-situ on the Museum’s façade.
In addition Emin will also include works from her ‘baby things’ collection, such as a tiny sock, mitten and a bronze cast teddy bear and seven works on paper from her recent book ‘One Thousand Drawings’.
The exhibition will include the artist’s texts and personal ephemera alongside heart felt tokens left by the mothers for their babies in hope of one day reuniting with them.
Admission: £7.50; Concession £5
