Georg Baselitz at Museum Frieder Burda and the Staadliche Kunsthalle

Two neighbouring museums in Baden-Baden, the Museum Frieder Burda and the Staadliche Kunsthalle, will present ‘Baselitz; A Retrospective’, an extensive retrospective of the paintings and sculptures of artist Georg Baselitz.
The Museum Frieder Burda will host ‘Fifty Years of Painting’ which features approximately eighty paintings and forty works on paper, spanning the last five decades of Baselitz’s career. These include nine paintings from the celebrated ‘Hero’ series of the mid 1960’s.
The Staadliche Kunsthalle will also present ‘ThirtyYears of Sculpture’. The sculpture works are presented sequentially, beginning with Baselitz’s first sculpture entitled ‘Modell fur eine Skulptur’ (1979) and ending with his latest sculpture ‘Folk Ding Zero’.
