Mario Garcia Torres at CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts

7 Jul 2009

As part of ‘The Exhibition Formerly Known as Passengers’ programme, Mexican artist Mario Garcia Torres will be exhibiting in the upper gallery of CCA Wattis Institute of Contemporary Arts.

On view will be a selection of earlier works including ‘What Happened in Halifax Stays in Halifax (in 36 Slides) (2004-2006)’, a slideshow which documents the event of a reunion of ex- students of Halifax’s NSCAD University, who in 1969 created a work based on the concept of a shared idea that had to remain secret.

Garcia Torres will be in conversation with Jens Hoffman in the gallery at the opening reception at 7p.m.
