The Turner Prize 2008 exhibition takes place at Tate Britain from 30 September and will encompass work by Runa Islam, Mark Leckey, Goshka Macuga and Cathy Wilkes, who have all been short-listed for this year’s prize. Runa Islam has been nominated for her solo exhibition ‘Centre of Gravity’ at Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen and National Museum of Art, Oslo. Her closely choreographed films investigate the technical process of film itself as well as the possibilities of film representation. The works are conceptually based and yet visually lyrical, engaging the viewer in the illusory nature of the medium.
Channel 4 will announce the winner at Tate Britain on 1 December during a live broadcast.
