Antony Gormley
Scope

This new multiple work by Antony Gormley has been created to coincide with the opening of his exhibition ‘Blind Light’ at London’s Hayward Gallery. Crafted from a thin steel tube, ‘Scope’ functions in the manner of a kaleidoscope as a physical and sensory intersection between an individual, the artwork, and the world beyond. Like so much of Gormley’s work, this piece highlights his ongoing interest in the notion of space and how it is experienced visually, and corporally. 'Scope' is inspired by a new installation entitled 'Hatch' which involves an entire room of these kaleidoscopic steel tubes which can be seen for the first time as part of the Hayward exhibition.
