This lyrical image was taken by Wyn Evans in a building in Brasilia, the utopian, modernist city designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Wyn Evans is known for his conceptually intriguing films, sculptures and installations that often reconfigure modernist texts and objects into conceptually precise and beguiling works. Wyn Evans has made many photographs during his career and these are often taken during the artists travels around the globe. Beautiful and poised as works in their own right, they also often become the visual starting point for larger-scale sculptures and installations.
